Smyrna Arbor Day Festival. 10am – 1pm. Brawner Hall. The children’s event starts at 11am with some “tree yoga” and then will focus on why trees are important and the history of Arbor Day. Then the kids will do a special Arbor Day art project with the education/outreach staff from Trees Atlanta. Refreshments will be served at noon. Space is limited.
Michaels Kids’ Club. 10am, 10:30, 11, 11:30. All Michaels locations. This week’s craft: Foam & Felt Butterfly.
Marietta Square Farmers Market. 10am – 1pm.
Barnes & Noble Storytime. 11am. Cumberland location. Book: Henry’s Freedom Box. A Black History Month event.
Annual Kidgets Club Book Blast. 1pm – 3pm. Towne Center at Cobb (Lower Level Belk Wing). Enjoy a special read-aloud session of popular modern classics with local celebrities. There will also be fun, book-based activities to bring these stories to life. Children are encouraged to bring new or gently used books to be donated, and everyone in attendance will be eligible for drawings to win free books and other prizes.
Dinosaur Train Live at the Cobb Energy Center. 1pm & 4pm. The popular PBS Kids television show will be brought to life through spectacular interactive multi-media, music and puppetry. Tickets start at $18 and can be purchased here.
Free Admission to The Southern Museum. All day.
Sunday
Atlanta Ballet Centre Princess Tea. 2pm – 4:30pm. Atlanta Ballet Centre. Join the Atlanta Ballet Cobb Centre for their annual Princess Tea Party. Party participants are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite princess ball gowns and finery! Festivities will include tea & sweets, games, mini dance classes, face painting, Special performances by the Atlanta Ballet Centre Ensemble, Plus, American Girl will also be on hand with crafts and a drawing for an American Girl prize pack to include a Bitty Baby Doll, matching book, and Prima Ballerina set. This is a DROP OFF event for children ages 3 – 8. Advanced registration required. $25.
