Spectrum Story Time. 10:30am – 11am. Smyrna Public Library. Designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Spectrum Story time includes several sensory integration activities and a story for children and their caregiver. Class is limited to 8 children. Please call 770-431-2860 ext 3 to register or for more information.

Smyrna Fresh Produce Market. 8am – 12pm. Smyrna First Baptist (Market Village).

Document Shredding Event by Keep Smyrna Beautiful & Keep Marietta Beautiful. 9am – 12pm. Smyrna Location: Wolfe Adult Recreation Center, 884 Church Street, Smyrna. Marietta Location: Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta. It’s time for some fall cleaning. Residents can have their household documents securely shredded and donate gently-worn shoes. Bring paper only: four file boxes or 100 lb limit. Staples, small paper clips on paper are okay. Not accepted: Plastics, CDs, floppy discs, electronics, cardboard and large binders with metal rings.

Michaels Kids’ Club. 10am, 10:30, 11, 11:30. All Michaels locations.

Read to Sparty at Switzer Library. 10:30 – 11:30. Independent readers can read to a four-footed friend! Read to a certified Careing Paws or Reading Paws dog for 15 minutes. The dog loves the attention and you won’t believe how much they enjoy hearing you read a story to them. (Hint- they even like stories about cats if you read it). Registration required. Call 770-528-2331.

Barnes & Noble Storytime. 11am. Akers Mill location.

Taste of Smyrna. 11am – 8pm. Smyrna Market Village. We can’t say farewell to summer without a proper sendoff: The Taste of Smyrna is food, fun and music all day long! Admission is free and samples can be purchased from .50 up to $4.  There will also be a special Kid Zone with inflatables, a rock wall and obstacle course.

Street League Skateboarding Atlanta Pro Demo. 1:30pm – 7pm. Kennesaw Skatepark. Kennesaw Skatepark’s all-concrete Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Plaza will be the site of the Street League Skateboarding Atlanta Pro Demo event on Saturday, September 13 from 1:30-7 pm. The event, presented by Cricket Wireless, will feature guest appearances by SLS pros including Paul Rodriguez, a living skateboard legend and one of the elite street skateboarders in Street League Skateboarding. Rodriguez, known around the world also as “P-Rod” and other SLS pros will meet and greet with the local community, skate a demo, sign autographs, and skate with local fans. The event will also include music, food, and tons of free giveaways.
