Friday

Marietta Greek Festival. 3pm – 11pm. Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 3431 Trickum Road, Marietta. Amazing food, art, demonstrations, entertainment, shopping and kids activities. Tickets are $4 for adults, free for children 12 and under.

Yaarab Shrine Circus. Jim Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road, S.W., Marietta. Midway only on Friday – no shows.  The world’s largest Shrine Circus lasts for 10 days and feature top circus acts from around the world with daredevil acrobats and entertaining acts. Plus enjoy a carnival midway with over 40 rides and carnival food! Tickets are $7 at the gate, children 10 and under are free.

“Suspended” at Young Actor’s Playhouse. 7:3opm. 65 Atlanta St, Marietta. It’s just another day at Joseph Biden Junior High, except for the kids who have to spend the day in in-school-suspension. When the teacher has to step out momentarily, and quite frequently, the kids talk about the devious acts that got them in trouble in the first place. Full of original music and dancing, this show explores the “zero-tolerance” policies that schools have adopted and how these policies affect the development of our children.

Free Candlelight Concert at Mable House Amphitheatre. Gates open at 7pm, concert starts at 8pm. Mable House Amphitheatre. Rain or shine. This week’s artist: Geoff Achison (blues, blues rock & soul).

Special Events

Mableton Day Festival. 5K/Fun Run at 8am, festival from 10am – 4pm. Mable House Complex, 5239 Floyd Road, Mableton. Come out and enjoy the 10th Annual Mableton Community Day. Families can enjoy a 5K, Fun Run, food, arts, crafts, entertainment, even a car show.

Smyrna Garden Tours. 10am – 4pm. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Smyrna has fabulous gardens and this year Keep Smyrna Beautiful gives you a chance to get an inside look at the gardening talents of our active and resourceful citizens. Enjoy gardens, music, artists, food, a plant sale and more! Event is rain or shine. Tickets can be purchased from Smyrna Recycling Center, Community Center, Heart and Soul, Vickery Hardware, and Neighbors Feed and Seed Supply.
