First Friday Art Walk – Marietta Square. 5 – 9pm. First Friday Art Walk at Marietta Square presents a free self-guided tour of the finest in visual and performing arts. Visit us 5 – 9 pm, rain or shine, the first Friday of April through October (except for July 4, 2014). Galleries, museums, restaurants and boutiques host local artists and stay open late for shopping. Park for free on the streets, and in the parking garage after 4:45 on Cherokee Street across from the Strand Theatre. Find maps at each participating location (look for window banners), at Art Walk sidewalk signs, from Ambassadors (wearing white aprons), and online at www.artwalkmarietta.com.

Flying Colors Butterfly Festival. 10am – 3pm. The Flying Colors Butterfly Festival delights everyone all weekend at the Chattahoochee Nature Center when the air fills with the beating wings of hundreds of beautiful butterflies! Live butterfly releases; Butterfly Crafts & Face Painting, Sidewalk Art, Live Music, Food for the Family, Marketplace and more – See full event schedule on website. This is a fundraising event for CNC.
City of Kennesaw Outdoor Movie Series – Frozen. Event starts at 6. Movie starts at Sundown. Swift Cantrell Park, 3140 Old US Highway 41, Kennesaw. Movies will be projected onto a giant inflatable screen after sundown. Arrive early for entertainment, free and pay-to-play children’s activities, giveaways and outdoor fun. For your comfort, bring a blanket or low-back chairs. Pop-up tents, canopies or beach umbrellas that can obstruct the view of others are not permitted. Concessions will be available for purchase. Parking is available inside the park, and at neighboring Kennesaw Elementary School.
City of Smyrna Summer Concert Series – AJ Ghent Band. 7pm – 10pm. Village Green, Smyrna. The summer concert series kicks off with amazing talent of AJ Ghent. The AJ Ghent Band is an American band that spans the genres of southern rock, blues, soul and funk music – fusing together what front man (lap steel guitarist) AJ Ghent calls “Southern Soul.” Their mentor is Zac Brown.
