Weekend Fun, February 6-8

Saturday

Home Depot Kids’ Workshop. 9am – 12pm. All Home Depot locations. This month’s activity: Build a heart box for Valentine’s Day. These workshops are designed for children 5 – 12. In addition to their craft, they will receive a free apron, pin and certificate while supplies last. All materials available on a first come, first serve basis.

Kid’s Business Expo. 9am – 6pm. Cobb Galleria. Calling all Young Entrepreneurs! The Kid’s Business Expo is part trade show, part educational session geared towards 12-18 years olds. There will be plenty of special programs offered for the teens and their parents. In addition, there will be opportunities for young people to share their ideas with others in a “true trade show” format. Check website for program times, pre-registration and cost.

Michaels Kids’ Club. 10am, 10:30, 11, 11:30. All Michaels locations.

Bounce House Fun Day with Chick-fil-A. 11:30 – 5:30. Town Center at Cobb. Bounce the day away at this event. Free for Kidgit members. Or you can sign up on site for $5 for one year worth of Kidgit events.

Special “Marietta Reads” Storytime. 1-2pm. Switzer Library. “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” + crafts. All ages are welcome! Learn more about Marietta Reads here.

Family Storytime at Smyrna Public Library. 2-2:30. Stories, songs, and a related craft.

 

Sunday

Marietta Daddy Daughter Dance. 2:30 – 5pm. The Mansour Center, 995 Roswell St. This very popular event is open to girls ages 5 to 12 and their fathers or other special man in their life. Daddies and daughters will enjoy music, dancing, games and more. This is an opportunity to dress up in semi-formal or formal attire and enjoy a unique experience to remember. This year’s theme is Pinwheels and Pearls. It is $30 for the first child’s ticket and an additional $5 per daughter after that. More info here. Register here.

 

Special Note:

The Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education’s Prince and Princess Tea Parties are coming in February! This drop-off event benefits the Atlanta Ballet and features tea & sweets, crafts, face painting, photos and special performances by the Centre Ensemble dancers. Registration is closed for the Marietta event, but there’s still time to register and pay for the Buckhead event. It is Sunday, February 22 and payment is due February 14.
