New Year’s Eve Parties with the Littles

Whether you’re staying home for New Year’s Eve or scored that coveted babysitter for the evening, here are a few things going on New Year’s day so you can enjoy some early fun with the whole family.

Marietta Square New Year’s Eve. Marietta has a full day and night planned for New Year’s Eve! Head over with the family from 2pm – 7pm to enjoy many family friendly activities, including the ice rink, ice sculpting and cosmic golf. There will be a countdown and “Chick-fil-A Cow Drop” at 7pm to get the little ones home by bedtime. Then Whisky Gentry kicks off the evening entertainment at 8:30pm and at midnight they’ll have Marietta’s first ball drop.
(Even if you’re not attending, take note that several streets near the square will be closed in the early afternoon, so consider alternate routes.)

Sparkles New Year’s Eve Day Event. 10am – 9pm at Sparkles of Smyrna. Let the little kids skate and enjoy a balloon drop at 5pm. $5 admission and $4 skate rental.

Noon Year’s Eve at Fernbank. 10am – 2pm. Enjoy special New Year activities including a noon balloon drop, a DJ in the great hall, a photo snack and more. All activities are covered by the cost of general admission. Members are free.

Noon Year’s Eve at Legoland Discovery Center. 10am – 5pm. Ring in the New Year before the clock strikes midnight at its annual Noon Year’s Eve on December 31! The balloon drop tradition will take place at noon, with a countdown displayed on screens around the center. Throughout the day, you can also take part in the large 2016 group build, enter to win great prizes and more.

Kids’ Early New Years at Stone Mountain. Because kids are just as excited to ring in the New Year as their parents—but need to be in bed before midnight—Stone Mountain Park is set to host an early New Year’s Eve Celebration. During Stone Mountain Christmas on Dec. 31., Stone Mountain Park will operate the Christmas event as usual (2 – 9 p.m.) and ring in the New Year with additional fireworks, snowfall and early countdown. Immediately after the Snow Angel Snowfall and Fireworks Finale, the New Year’s Eve activities will begin with costumed characters, music and dance-a-longs. At 8:59 p.m. the early countdown will begin and when the clock strikes 9 p.m. snow and fireworks will usher in the New Year.

** Noon Year’s Eve at Children’s Museum is sold out.
